I-751 Processing Time: Historical USCIS Averages and Definitions

How we estimate
We retain the official report, checksum, reporting month, form and category. Averages use completed cases in that month. Counts are reported separately; pending cannot be calculated from receipts minus approvals and denials. Revisions retain prior artifacts.
Use the official tool for the published estimate for your form, category and office. These historical statistics describe cases already completed.

Form categories differ
I-751 — I-751 concerns removal of conditions on residence. The combined form average does not separate joint petitions and waiver categories or predict a pending petition.
I-589: no verified processing-time figure is published here. Asylum-office workloads and completed court durations do not establish an I-589 wait estimate.

Charts require at least two real compatible observations. Missing months stay gaps; metrics, categories, offices and units are never spliced together.
One verified monthly observation is available. A historical trend is not yet published.

Frequently asked questions
What do USCIS processing averages measure?
The official monthly report gives the arithmetic mean time from receipt to completion for cases completed in that month, across USCIS. It is different from a historical national median, an office 80th-percentile estimate and a case-inquiry threshold.
Does this processing time predict my pending case?
No. Completed cases are not the same population as pending cases. These data do not estimate time remaining, guarantee a decision date or establish eligibility for an inquiry. Use the official USCIS tool and case-status service.
Is there an I-589 asylum processing-time estimate?
We do not publish an I-589 number without verified source evidence. The monthly report has no I-589 row. I-485 asylum adjustment and asylum-office workloads are different measures; consult the official USCIS tool.
Is the I-765 average the wait for an asylum-based EAD?
No. The service-wide I-765 monthly average combines reported eligibility categories. A pending-asylum (c)(8) office estimate must identify that specific category and metric with its own dated source.
How are AI-assisted observations checked?
Two independent web-search extractions must agree on every cell and cite at least two independent publishers, including USCIS. They must pass definition, date and baseline plausibility checks. Accepted rows carry an AI-assisted label and remain queued for original-artifact re-verification; disagreements stay in review.
